Cabin Crew Flight Deck Crew Flight Deck Crew - How long can I expect to wait before I am shortlisted to attend an interview?
If you meet the minimum requirements for a position as Flight Crew, your application will be reviewed and considered in competition with others. Accordingly, priority is assigned dependent on your level of experience; candidates with greater experience levels and those who are type rated on Emirates’ fleet types may expect to be invited to attend the Selection Program within a shorter time of application than those with less experience.
- If my application is shortlisted, is it possible to defer attendance in the Selection Program?
You may contact Pilot Recruitment via email on pilot.recruitment@emirates.com to advise us if you wish your application to be considered at a later date. If, however you have been scheduled to attend an interview which you initially accept and later decline with less than one week’s notice, your application may be closed, with no opportunity to re-apply at a later date.
- What is the duration of the contract of employment?
Unless otherwise stated, the contract of employment is permanent and open (i.e. no fixed duration). There is a probationary period of six months commencing from your date of joining.

All Flight Crew will be bonded for a period of three years. The bond for First Officers is US$36,000. The bond for Direct Entry Captains will be either US$12,000 or US$36,000, depending on Emirates’ training course eligibility.
- If I am selected and have a bond with my current airline, will Emirates pay the remainder of the bond?
The payment of an outstanding bond amount from a previous employer is the responsibility of the individual.
- If I am selected, how is my Fleet type decided?
Whilst past experience is taken into account, this will not always determine the fleet type as allocation is based solely on Emirates’ operational requirements.
- Can I expect my salary to be increased?
Salary scales are reviewed on an annual basis. Subject to satisfactory performance, a step increment to the basic salary may be awarded following the annual performance review.
- If I am not successful in the Selection Program, is it possible to reapply?
If you are unsuccessful during the Selection Program, you may reapply after 24 months.
