Group Safety
Group Safety's role is to ensure that a fitting and cost-effective framework exists, within which a high standard of safety can be attained in all areas of our diverse organisation. This is achieved by operating an Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), which addresses in detail issues such as safety culture, senior management commitment, hazard identification and risk management. Using the ISMS, we help departments to manage safety within their own areas. Safety. It’s important to build awareness that safety requires attention, enthusiasm, participation and good communication between all employees at every level.
Our functions are fourfold:
Safety Investigation
We have the expertise to carry out independent investigations into safety issues when there is evidence of risk. The information gained forms the basis for safety recommendations.
Safety Oversight
We conduct safety audits for the entire Emirates Group. Safety audits can be sub-divided into three separate categories:
• Management/processes
• Compliance
• Risk assessment/Safety controls.
Our aim is to identify potential hazards and ensure adequate risk management is in place.
Advisory
We provide advice on safety regulations; acceptable means of compliance, industry best practice, plus risk and hazard management, in order to achieve the highest practical standard of safety within the Group.
Education
The value of safety and the continuous effort to enhance it is embedded in the ongoing training and education that every member of the Group receives. We provide specialised safety awareness programmes as and when required.
Within Group Safety we recruit for a range of roles including:
• Group Safety Coordinator
• Manager Safety Audit
• Safety Analysis and Systems Manager
• Group Safety Programme Manager
• Group Safety Support Officers
• Fire Protection Technical Systems Specialists.
Location & Facilities
We are located in the new Emirates Group Headquarters. We also run an airport office on a 24/7 basis, ensuring availability as and when needed. This team is supported round the clock by a duty safety manager.
