National Cadet Pilot Programme

We are looking for young, ambitious UAE Nationals to join the National Cadet pilot programme and become our pilots of the future. You could be among the world’s best trained pilots and fly one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the sky.

The training will be in Emirates Flight Training Academy, duration of the program is approximately four years and is divided into three main phases:

First phase (Foundation Programme): Duration of this Phase will be 18 weeks and will include a foundation in Aviation Science courses.

Second Phase (Flight Training Programme): This phase will provide approximately 273 hours of flight experience to trainees, and provide a course completion certificate for the Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC) and a Commercial Pilot Licence with Multi Instrument Rating (CPL/multi IR).

Third Phase (Conversion and Line training): The length of this phase depends on each individual’s requirements. Upon completion of this phase, trainees are ready to fly large jet aircrafts.

Programme objective:

 

The programme aims to develop talented UAE National graduates and provide them with a strong foundation to pursue a career in Flight Operations, one of the key functions within Emirates Airline. This programme enables trainees to qualify as flight dispatchers, offering both technical and soft skills training. You will have the opportunity to train in our Network Control Centre, Crew Operations Centre and Flight Operations with experienced licensed flight dispatchers and examiners as your mentors.

Programme description (phases and duration)

Trainees divide their time between in-classroom courses at the Emirates Aviation University and on the job training in Flight Operations and Network Control. This is an approximately 18-month long divided into two main phases:

 

  • First phase (4 months):

  • Trainee joins Flight Operations for 8 weeks before joining the Emirates Aviation University (EAU)
  • Trainee joins EAU for 10 weeks
  • Trainee gains the required certificates*

  • Completion of 90 shift GCAA phase for the issuance of licenses
  • Trainee gains familiarity with other functions in Network Control
  • Trainee completes all the required desk checks
